We, Too, Are Venus

For every body told to be less.

🐚 They tell us
beauty is sharp,
angles chiseled thin,
fading in wind.
Be less.

but Venus knew—
in the cradle of her curves,
in the supple rise
of hips and thighs,
in the weight that holds
the earth steady,
bearing life…

her body,
a testament to tides,
full as moonlight,
soft as dawn,
where each curve
sings of creation,
every hollow whispers
of the warmth of a mothers hug.

we, too, are Venus,
wrapped in supple strength,
in forms that cradle,
nurture, endure.

we carry the world,
its laughter and pain,
with grace,
with the art
of being,
the divine birthright—
to be a woman,
sensuous and full
of life.
